Gear sits in a loadout. The middle slot is the Runner Phone. Augments such as the Grappler and Mag Rail use USE AUGMENT. You can hide gear models on your own client only.
What to craft first
- Runner Phone from Derek, after Julian tells you to. Deliveries do not start without it, and Derek's later quests are separate climb checks worth 100 each, ending in Binoculars for the top of Vertigo.
- Grappler if you want vertical travel and swing points. White drones with a red light, plus a few leftover red-cube placeholders, are the swing points. Stack also has larger drones that carry objects.
- Glove when wall contact is the problem you actually have. Climber and Drifter are branches, not a single ladder. Their stat lines were rephrased in alpha 1.7 and are not reprinted as numbers here.
- Mag Rail when you are climbing pipes and towers. It shoots you along climbables and into the launch techniques.
- Zipline Hook when a stainless zipline is the short path. Riding one with the hook also builds momentum. Cable Glider I is the upgrade.
Springhook is Connor's craft in Dirwik. Quickbelt, Arc Lantern, Glaive, and Paraglider appear on the marketplace list; this guide does not invent recipes for them. Adrenaline Stim and Bloxy Cola are one-time items. Vending machines are planned to sell Bloxy Cola and are not usable yet.
Grappler, in the current patch
Alpha 1.731 let the Grappler be used on ladders, added a retract animation, and made glass crack on contact and shatter when you pull. Cancelling a move with DESCEND now happens on the key press, not the release.
Yank is the pull branch: more pull and more ammo, then faster windup and throw at tier II. Swing is the rope branch: longer rope and ammo resets on swing points at tier I, then any-surface swings at tier II with the ammo limit from alpha 1.72.
Grapple high jump, long jump, and launch are in the technique guide. They are timing on top of the tool, not extra items.
Mag Rail
The base craft is the casing, two coils, three pulse generators, and a rail trigger. Launch Rail spends more of Harper's parts to add the bounce and dash used in mag boost, crossdash, and mag fall cancel. Binoculars gained a new job in alpha 1.73: because streaming replaced the old detail-distance setting, zooming in is how you see detail objects around the place you are looking.
Bags
Bags are cosmetic crates, not power. Starter Bag is 30 tokens or 45,000 credits. Runner Bag is 150 or 225,000. Gallery Bag and Worker Bag are 250 or 375,000. Shade Bag is 200 or 300,000. Prefer Slips, 25 tokens, choose which gear a skin applies to. The Christmas Bag is unobtainable. Alpha 1.73 added Worker and Shade bags and a mythic rarity. Duplicates are not kept; you are refunded at least half the currency. Restricted-region buyers get the promised cosmetic directly and cannot reassign a bag's gear after the reveal. The Night Market sells cosmetics for tokens and resets weekly.
Pre-alpha players are slated to receive a Grappler skin when beta ships. Alpha players were told to expect a lesser cosmetic at the same time. Beta has no date, and the game becomes permanently free then.
